Dr. James will oversee quality and clinical services for the population health management company
Jesse James, MD, MBA, joins CHESS as Chief Medical Officer where he will offer guidance and support for the more than 3,000 providers and 148,000 patients served by the population health management company.
Dr. James comes from Evolent Health in Arlington, VA where he served as Chief Medical Information Officer. He was the clinical architect for enterprise information systems and data use, working collaboratively across the organization to enhance clinical goals in value-based development. Prior to that, Dr. James was the associate medical director at Inovalon.
Dr. James was also involved with the Department of Health and Human Services Office of National Coordinator for Health IT (ONC-HIT). There, he was deeply involved in the EHR Meaningful Use program, development of clinical quality measures, and served as clinical advisor on multiple federal committees. Other notable achievements include receiving the honorary award for excellence in Innovation at the ONC-HIT, and serving as a co-chair for the MACRA Technical Expert Panel for the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services Quality Measure Development.
Dr. James earned his medical degree at Yale School of Medicine and his MBA at Yale School of Management. He completed his medical residency in Internal and Preventative Medicine at the UNC School of Medicine in Chapel Hill.
